i-ENVY by Kiss Trio Lashes Feb02

i-ENVY by Kiss Trio Lashes...

If like me, you love single lashes then you are in for a treat with i-ENVY by Kiss Trio Lashes. I’ve been using these on clients and myself for a few months and they are amazing. With 3 clusters of lashes, they triple the speed at which you would apply single ones but are still small enough to customize the shape. You also avoid the hassle of a full strip possibly peeling up at the front when worn for long periods. So best of both world’s! Even better are the lengths available! They come in a short /extra short, the latter of which are smaller than any single lashes so great for those wanting a very natural look or for smaller/hooded eyes. They also have a short/medium combo ,which allows for a more dramatic look. The band is very thin and clear, I would compare it to that of Ardell Demi Wispies which are very natural. This also means they curve unlike other brands offering half sets or clusters. Usually these tend to droop due to the thick straight bands, which in turn do no favors for your eyes. Another bonus is the packaging in the form of a handy pink oval tray that has a glue pocket; so no glue mishaps, which always happens when I put it on the back of my hand. Adhesive is not included in the pack so I use Duo Adhesive in white/clear or dark tone if going for a more dramatic, dark eye. My only issue is the ratio of lengths; you only get 6 extra short lashes in the short pack and 6 short in the medium pack, I feel it should be 50/50 as most people taper out to a longer length on the outer edges so...

Ciaté Geltox and Detox Jan30

Ciaté Geltox and Detox...

For the New Year I thought I would kick off with a new purchase, which I am in LOVE with!! I’m obsessed with Gel nails so imagine turning any of your favorite nail polishes into a gorgeous glossy gel polish….Ciaté has made this possible with the at home Ciaté Geltox nail system The machine is small and portable, which is a bonus and the process is sooo easy and fast, words that make me happy It takes 1-2 coats of Geltox Top Coat over your regular nail polish (depending on level of gloss you want) and 60 seconds per hand under the LED lamp. That’s it, good to go! The Geltox starter kit costs £99, so a bargain you consider the cost of having gel manicures in salons or other systems with lots of components, which are also time consuming. Here is a step by step by Ciaté for best results This does not last as long as Shellac or full gel nails so I would avoid it for holidays etc, unless you are going to bring it with you to redo. But for a long week at work or for an occasion this is perfect. I also love that I can now buy any colour I like regardless of quality and know they will look good or if you’re like me and have more than one Mini Mani Month packed away-you can dust it off and it will last longer than a day! I also picked up the Geltox Detox £25, which gently removes the gel, leaving your nails in tiptop condition. To do this you buff the nails so they can absorb firstly the nail oil to nourish. Next you pop the removal solution on your nails using tape that has little pads...

Who Framed Roger Rabbit? May07

Who Framed Roger Rabbit?...

Back in February Future Cinema brought to life the Ink & Paint Club from Who Framed Roger Rabbit. It was a challenge to bring the toons to life as humans as the company wanted some realism but still to stand out from the crowd. Here are some behind the scenes and action shots from the show.Jessica Rabbit was probably the most challenging as she is such an iconic figure and instantly recognizable so had to be spot on! I still was not 100% happy but considering budget and timings constraints, I think we pulled it off. The actress playing Jessica had long dark hair and we could no afford a lace wig or to dye her hair so I ordered a custom made wig as there are no good Jessica Rabbit wigs on the market (to my knowledge). I chose the colour so it added some realism and added extensions for fullness.   It was such a fun show with wonderful cast and my favorite work from the super talented costume team. x...

Gatsby Glamour Nov27

Gatsby Glamour

There seems to be lots of Gatsby themed parties and events since the release of Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby film. Myself and Annabel Hornsby recently worked on a private party with this theme, so I thought I would share some looks to give you some inspiration for Gatsby Glamour. What I took from the film is not to copy a 1920’s look so literally (if you want to look good that is). So, if you have pastel coloured hair like one of our dancers did, or full Cara Delevigne style eyebrows, work with what you have and make it a modern twist on the 20’s! I chose to thicken and define the dancers eyebrows, with a full, natural lip shape. I think the eyes and hair are enough to give an impression of the decade. So for the gold costumed dancers, we created a deep purple smokey eye with black glitter and a gold highlight, all from the latest MAC Nocturnals Pigments and Glitter: Black & Gold. The lips were a plum with a sheen, which were a nod to the era but again, not a replica. For the dancers in a jade costume and feathered headdress, we went more girly and really took a liberty with the 20’s. We used pale pink pigments and glitter on the eyes from the MAC Nocturnals Pigments and Glitter: Silver & Violet, and applied a soft pink glossy lip. For added drama and to compliment the costumes, we scattered gems around the eyes and doubled-up on Katy Perry Ka-Pow lashes by Eylure, which have a gorgeous violet tip. For hair, the best thing to do is buy a wig as finger waves are tricky to master unless you are a professional. Fancy dress wigs can be great,...

Wild Flowers Styled Wedding Shoot Nov26

Wild Flowers Styled Wedding Shoot...

Last week our styled wedding shoot from the summer was featured on the fantastic The English Wedding Blog. Annabel Hornsby was inspired by the floral crowns worn by lots celebs at the summer festivals so we decided to put together a shoot with soft hairstyles to compliment the wild flower crowns by Flower Field Hampshire but to amp up the eye makeup to keep the look current. We had the gorgeous backdrop of Warborne Farm with the talented OK! photographer Abi Chadwick at the helm.  Exquisite Brides supplied stunning Stephanie Allin and Claire Pettibone dresses for brides as well as the hugely popular Two Birds dresses for bridesmaids. My sister Sophia Ghwedar created chic manicures showing that deep plums can work just as well as nudes for weddings, and the finishing touch was added with beautiful handmade jewellery courtesy of Sarah Hickey. Below is a breakdown of the look I created on our gorgeous model Isca. I prepped Isca’s skin with with Creme De La Mer Moisturising Cream and used YSL Touche Eclat Foundation as a light base. To conceal I used a mixture of colours from my Bobbi Brown University Palette. We wanted a soft youthful look so I contoured and highlighted using Tom Ford’s Shade and Illuminate. I only used a very small amount of loose powder on the t-zone to take away shine. Isca had amazing full bows so I kept them soft and brushed through with some clear mascara to hold them in place. I wanted to keep the emphasis on the eyes so stained her lips with a rosebud shade mixed with a little balm. The focal point of this look was the eyes so we went for a rich purple by layering products.  I started by prepping the...

Coast #brightnewthings Bloggers Styling Event/ Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie...

In April myself and my good friend Annabel Hornsby gave mini makeovers as part of Coast’s Bloggers Styling Event to launch their High Summer Collection Bright New Things. It was a great girlie morning and Bare Minerals sent us staple pieces as well as some gorgeous products from their latest launch. I’d been busy around the time and forgot to blog but I recently went back to these products for a job and thought I would mention my faves.   I would recommend the blusher The Natural High which is very similar to Benefit Coralista and Nars Orgasm. The warm peachy tone has speckles of gold that give a lovely glow and it applies smoothly without too much pigmentation to make it overpowering.I loved the Marvelous Moxie Lipsticks we were sent especially Go The Distance which is a creamy, vibrant coral that can work as a statement lip if applied straight from the bullet/with a brush or is a great stain if patted onto the lips with a finger. For an extra oomph on a night out try Game Changer Lipgloss from the collection layered on top of Go The Distance or wear the gloss alone with dewy, tinted moisturizer and mascara for a fresh look.
